Each jig is tied with care by “Bucktail” Wayne Auchstetter. Wayne has honed his skills as an angler and jig maker through 40+ years of walleye fishing on the Mississippi River. We’re proud to offer Bucktail Wayne’s favorite color patterns in 1/4 ounce, 5/16 ounce and 3/8 ounce sizes. Each is tied with hand-graded bucktails that have been carefully dyed to the intended color to ensure consistency. And every bait is tied on our own Precision Head jigs, featuring a premium-quality Mustad® hook, chip-free epoxy paint and stamped with the precise weight. Bucktail jigs are great choices in cold water situations … in rivers and lakes, with or without live bait, for walleyes, saugers and smallmouth bass! These are the same hair jigs that many Mississippi River guides have been using for years, but have been unavailable until now.

I took the purple 3/8 oz to lake erie on a calmer day and got my limit of nice walleye on this jig. Very happy with the fish catching ability of the jig.

It seems to be hard to find hair jigs at times, even harder in a real purple. Exactly what I was looking for, well made as well.

These jigs are just what I wanted and could not find in local stores. They are well made and I'm sure I will be getting more.

I use them 90 % of the time when I'm chasing walleye n sauger they're are super effective when tipped with a minnow. I been buying them for a couple of years now, the only downside is that they've stop making some colors that used to work great for me.

Cold Water Walleye

The bucktail jigs shine during cold water periods of spring and fall and is usually tipped with a minnow. I usually out fish my boat partners using plastics or plain jigs with a minnow.

Good colour choices and a good selection of weights for these jigs.
